Cross channel ferry return ticket
Now includes priority boarding and disembarking for our
outbound journey. Service may vary
depending on schedule and availability. Supported, pre-planned journey
You don't need to worry about planning a route,
wondering which junction to turn off, or where to get fuel. We have
fine tuned our journey over the years, and will travel with you as part of
the group, taking all of the stress out of the journey. You simply
join the convoy, and keep in touch via our 2 way business radios.
French Motorway Toll Charges
We now use an automated toll tag system for the French motorway
tolls. This is now included in your entry fee, and allows us to
reduce time and stress at toll booths, and allow us to keep the group
together more easily. If you do not intend to travel with the group,
please contact us before booking to discuss a deduction on the entry fee
in relation to toll charges.
Motorway motels in France (includes breakfast)
On the first and final nights during travel through
France. We use double or family rooms, dependant on the number of people in your vehicle. If
you intend to travel with more than 3 occupants or need more rooms, please contact us
before booking to confirm additional accommodation charges.
We also provide a continental breakfast at each of the French motorway motels.
Accommodation in Andorra (includes breakfast)
En-suite hotel room in a very friendly, well
established family run hotel. Each room can sleep up to 3
people (ask for layout details). The hotel also has a residents bar
and it's own restaurant which is open every day. Breakfast is
included for all entrants each morning.
Parking Fees near Accommodation in Andorra
Because land is at a premium in Andorra, almost all
hotel parking is underground, and not suitable for the height of most Land
Rover vehicles. We have arranged paid parking as close to the hotel
as possible, and the cost of this is covered within your entry fee.
Group Get-Together Meal (Sunday)
All entrants are invited to our group get-together on
Sunday evening when we arrive in Andorra. This will be held in our hotel restaurant,
and will save anyone from having to make plans or go out into town on the
first night after our long journey. We will
gather around one large table for an evening of food, wine and
socialising.
Guided Mountain Off Road Excursions (4 days)
We will lead the groups on guided off road tours in the
mountains on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will
be left free for you to explore alone, or go shopping, or relax etc.
Anyone wanting additional free time can opt out of any of the 4
excursions, and we always try to finish our final day of off roading
slightly earlier in the day, to give people time to visit tourist
attractions, pick up any last minute shopping, or just to get packed up
and relax ready for the journey home the following day. We also try
to offer a short optional excursion on the Wednesday morning.
Depending upon weather conditions, this can either be a short off road
route nearby, or a scenic tarmac drive to a fantastic local viewpoint..
Group Tapas Evening (Friday)
All entrants are invited to our group tapas night on
Friday evening at one of our favourite local restaurants. Our
friendly hosts will serve a great meal featuring a wide selection of tapas
dishes, along with your wine and beer (or soft drinks). It's a great
opportunity to mark the end of our week together in the mountains before
we head off back through France the following morning.
Access to local Land Rover parts sales and garage
services
We have access to trade priced parts from the local Land Rover dealership in Andorra,
as well as at local motor factors, tyre shops and other garages we have
got to know over the many years of travelling in this region. In the event of anyone needing replacement parts, these can
usually be sourced at reasonably competitive prices. We also carry workshop manuals
and parts catalogues for most models, and a comprehensive toolkit
including diagnostic computer, and can often assist with any minor repairs if needed.
Guide vehicle on call 24 hours a day
Equipped to deal with most minor emergencies. We
will assist as best we can with any breakdown, but if unable to repair we
will endeavour to get you to a recoverable position or local garage.
We carry comprehensive tool kits and some spares to try and assist with
any emergency repairs, plenty of recovery equipment, first aid kits, satellite telephone and GPS
navigation systems to ensure your holiday runs as smoothly as possible.
Support driver/guide on call 24 hours a day
Your guide is on call 24 hours a day to assist
you in the unlikely event of any problems arising during the trip.
Over the years we have built up many local contacts, so should be able to
assist you with any issues that arise whilst we are away. |
Fuel
Expect to drive approximately 1800 miles on the
continent. This covers the return journey from Dunkerque to Andorra,
and also the 4 days off roading.
Food & Drink
You will need to take food for the journey, or buy at
the service areas which all have a shop and/or cafe. There is easy
access to restaurants for an evening meal near our motels during the
journey through France. Once in Andorra, as well as the hotel, there
are lots of places to eat out, and we can give recommendations of places
to try. You should note that in this region, restaurants generally
do not open for evening meals until 8pm. There is a supermarket within close walking distance of our
hotel if you'd like to shop for food for during our off road days, or
alternatively our hotel can supply reasonably priced packed lunches if
ordered the previous evening.
NB:
Food is provided by us on Sunday &
Friday evenings, and also breakfast each day.
Travel Insurance
This is a requirement for everyone attending this trip, and online insurance
agents
offer suitable policies which
for 2 adults and 2 children can cost under £25. We will need to see
proof of cover in advance of the trip.
Vehicle Breakdown Cover
This again, is a requirement of booking on the trip. A suitable policy which
covers your vehicle for roadside assistance throughout Europe, and also
for full recovery of the vehicle either home to the UK, or to any other
mainland Europe destination can usually be purchased just for the
duration of the trip. We will need to see proof of cover in advance
of the trip. |
