Eden District
Sunday 13th March 2005.

Eden District is a new route for 2005.  However, on one of our many checks of the route, prior to the event, we were disappointed to find a river had broken it's banks, and caused severe damage to the river banks, and surrounding land, including some of the route we were to use.

It would have been irresponsible to use the route in it's current condition, so instead we have significantly altered the route, starting further West than intended, at Windermere in Cumbria.  We still head East throughout the day, and now finish at Tebay, just off the M6 Motorway.

Although we've altered the route, it still keeps a wide variety of terrain.  There's enclosed lanes at the start of the day, moving on to open agricultural land, followed in the afternoon by steep climbs, on rocky mountain sides, and even a small river crossing for good measure.
