Fun @ Weardale 2002
10th November 2002.

For the first ukLANDROVERevents off road event, we booked the entire 400 acre + site at Weardale Off Road Centre in County Durham.

The Weardale site is as varied as any off road centre, making it the ideal place for both first time off roaders, and hardened mud pluggers.

The selection of vehicles brought to the event by our entrants was just as varied.  We had a Series II, a couple of Series IIIs, 90's, 110's, newer Defenders and a Range Rover.

The day started with rain.  The weather for the past two weeks hadn't been much better, so we knew Weardale was going to throw some seriously muddy situations at us.  But isn't that what it's all about anyway?

One of the entrants arrived in true Land Rover style, bring the 90 he uses for off road on a trailer towed behind his Defender Black.

Some vehicles were specific off road toys.

And some were every day Land Rovers that get every day use, both on and off road.

Then there were our own vehicles.

Then there was Israel.  A first time entrant on a ukLANDROVERevents off road day.  He brought along a W Reg Defender 110 County Station Wagon.  We thought he would take it easy in such an expensive and relatively new vehicle.  We were wrong.  It seemed he was desperate to get his photo on the website by getting stuck.  So much so in fact, that we've had to dedicate a full section to Israel getting stuck.  He did it so often, and some may say, so well!!!
