(SUITABLE VEHICLES)

As the name suggests, ukLANDROVERevents operates it's scheduled driving events solely for Land Rover vehicles.

This is for several reasons.  Firstly, we are Land Rover enthusiasts ourselves, and have a total commitment to the marque.  Secondly, for practical reasons, it is more sensible for us to plan events around a core set of vehicles, therefore being able to accurately establish whether or not certain routes will be suitable for the vehicles that will come on the events.

When we plan a route, we try to ensure that all trails can be driven by the acceptable vehicles (see below) in entirely standard form.  Of course, lots of customers have vehicles that are 'off road prepared' to various extents, and this is also fine by us.

Owners of vehicles which do not fit our criteria for entry on the normal scheduled events may still be able to take part on a Private Tour, organised specifically for you and your vehicles.

PRODUCTION LAND ROVER VEHICLES

All production Land Rovers with the exception of the Freelander 1 & 2 are suitable for all of our events.  Owners of Range Rover Sport models may wish to check with us regarding ground clearance issues for some events.

The Freelander 1 & 2 and Range Rover Sport are not suitable for some events.  It is primarily the lack of a low range transfer gearbox that hinders the Freelander on some of our events, although there may also be ground clearance issues on certain events.  Contact us about which events may be suitable for your Freelander or Range Rover Sport.

Some events use trails with width restrictions in place, so some of the newer vehicles (Disco 3, Disco 4, L322 Range Rover) may not be suitable for these events.  Ask us for details.

You should also be aware that some fitted accessories, such as side steps and low slung towing electrics etc can be quite vulnerable to damage if driving off road.

LAND ROVER BASED VEHICLES (HYBRIDS/KITS ETC)

Any specially built vehicle broadly based on Land Rover running gear would normally be acceptable on our events.  These vehicles are sometimes recognised kits such as the Tomcat, Dakar or Ibex type vehicles, but equally welcome are home built hybrids or bobtails built from largely Land Rover based parts.

NON LAND ROVER PRODUCTION VEHICLES

Up to now, the only non Land Rover production vehicle we have accepted on our events is the Santana.  This is because their range of 4x4 vehicles is largely based on the Land Rover, with a very similar construction, and similar handling characteristics.
